POLICE CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE
The Sri Lanka Police Department issues Police Clearance Certificates for the period/s of your residence in Sri Lanka. You can apply for Police Clearance Certificates directly through the Police Department website police.gov.lk. If you do not wish to do so, you can submit your application through Melbourne office.
How to Apply
- Direct Online Submission to the Police Department:
Sri Lanka Police Department provides you the option to submit you application yourself, through their website, if you have left Sri Lanka after reaching sixteen (16) years of age. You can use the following link to access the online application:

2. Applying at the Melbourne’s counter: We encourage you to submit your application direct to the Police Department, through the above link. However, if you so wish, you can submit your application at over the counter. To submit the application at the counter, you must obtain a prior appointment. You can obtain an appointment on any working day between 9.30am -1.30pm. For public holiday closures please visit here
If you have left Sri Lanka before reaching the age of sixteen (16) years, you must submit your application at counter.
3. Applicants in South Australia can send the application via post to the Melbourne office after certifying the documents from our office.
